On Feb.5, 2009 the Sun Post in the article, Hold Em or Fold Em! featured the following from Sherry Roberts.
“I am a candidate because I want to help shape our future,” Roberts said. “Community service has always been an important part of my life and I am fortunate to have the time and energy to be a city commissioner.”Roberts’ three major platforms this year are streamlining the permitting process for home and commercial construction projects, maintaining the historic preservation and cleanliness of the beach and figuring out how to work within the ever-decreasing city budget.”
“The tax base is going down and tourism is down,” she says, “so, we have to learn how to do more with less and be successful.”
So far Roberts is enjoying the positivity and enthusiasm surrounding her campaign.
“I appreciate the opportunities to not only share my ideas and vision,” Roberts said, “but to listen to the concerns and ideas of the people I talk to — especially to new acquaintances.”
